Barista / Cafe All Rounder

[MELBOURNE CBD] EXPERIENCED BARISTA ALL-ROUNDER WANTED

HEARTH, a new cafe & eatery opening this October on Franklin Street in Melbourne CBD, is looking for an experienced Barista All-Rounder to join our team.

We’re looking for someone with solid barista experience and a good understanding of coffee, who is confident running the coffee bar while also being happy to help across FOH when needed.

As we’re starting with a small team, we’d love to find someone who enjoys working together, communicates well and is comfortable helping wherever needed. When it’s busy, we work hard as a team; when things are quieter, we’d like to create a relaxed environment where we can share ideas, experiment with coffee and drinks, and develop new recipes together.

THE ROLE

* Casual / Part-time

* Around 3–4 shifts per week

* Mainly daytime shifts

* Award rates

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO

* Has solid barista experience

* Has good knowledge of espresso extraction, grinder adjustment and dosing

* Is confident with milk texturing and latte art

* Has previous Customer Service / FOH experience

* Is confident communicating with customers in English

* Is comfortable with POS, food service, clearing tables and general FOH duties

* Is proactive, reliable and able to work independently when needed

* Enjoys working as part of a small team

* Is available on weekends

Coffee skills and knowledge are important to us, but so are great customer service, a positive attitude, reliability and teamwork.
